Year 6 Scrap Books

As you all know, at the end of Year 6, it is tradition at Claytons for you to spend time at school putting together a scrapbook.
Obviously, this is a little tricky under the current circumstances, so you may wish to make a start on it at home.  Remember, this is something which you will want to keep for a long time, so don’t rush it; it needs to tell your Claytons Primary story. Take great care over your work – you should produce something which you are truly proud of.
We are sure that you have oodles of great ideas as to what you can put in your scrapbook but just in case, there are some thoughts below:

An introduction written to your future self

  • Memories of Claytons – best trips/residentials, favourite subject, most enjoyable moments
  • Achievements – certificates, Star of the Week cards,
  • Photos or programmes from school plays
  • Top Trumps of your friends
  • List of your classes and teachers
  • Fact files
  • Poems
  • Comic strip
  • Contributions from your friends – jokes / photographs
  • Claytons values
  • Information on the school you are going to next
  • A description of the peculiar/unexpected events in year 6

We appreciate that you may not have all the bits and pieces at home that you need to do your scrapbooks, so we will prepare a named pack with some paper / card / ribbon for you to collect from school – this should be ready after the Easter holidays but we will let you know exactly when. Ideally, you should be mounting your work on the A4 sugar paper and then using the card as the front and back of the scrapbook. The ribbon is to tie the book together.
We will also provide you with a copy of the photo that was taken before you left. Apologies to those of you who were not able to be in it – perhaps you could draw yourselves in?
For obvious reasons, you will not be allowed into school to collect this, so the packs will be left outside. If you are not able to pick it up, please let us know and we will make arrangements to get it to you.
We hope you have fun with this project and would love to see them when you have finished. If you would like any of your teachers to contribute to your scrapbooks, please do let us know and we would be happy to send you something.   If you have any questions or you just want to show us how you are getting on with any of your work, email us at seniorleaders@claytonsps.org.uk
